Refund Policy

Products that are incorrectly delivered to you or damaged on delivery will be replaced at no cost to you. The product must be returned in the original packaging and include all documentation and accessories.  

A credit note or refund, (less admin costs), will be issued, provided the product is unused and returned within 7 days, in its original packaging, with all documentation and accessories. This excludes shipping costs. 

AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd is not responsible for damage or loss of any kind that may occur as a result of using or misusing any product.  

AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd will not reimburse your fee to ship returns to us, but we will pay for return shipping if the unit is subject to replacement. Please note AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd will only cover return shipping of a faulty unit within 6 months of purchase, after which, a shipping fee will be applicable to you for return of the unit.

If the unit you wish to return was ordered incorrectly or is no longer required/over-ordered or you have changed your mind, there is a collection fee that will be charged and this will be deducted from the refund amount.

All refunds are subject to an inspection of the product(s) which can take up to 7 business days. Once a refund has been approved, it may take 3 – 5 business days to be processed. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee if the item is no longer in a brand new condition or if item seal/packaging has been broken. Please re-package safely and include all original product packaging.  

AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd will only issue a refund for a faulty product if it is within 7 days of the delivery date. If a product is found to be defective after 7 days and within the manufacturer’s warranty period, the product will be replaced at no cost to the Customer.

AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to refuse a refund if the item is damaged from misuse, items are missing, or if the product is altered in any way.

The warranty will no longer be valid, and AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd will not be responsible for damage or injury of any kind resulting from:

  • Electricity fluctuations and surges, lightning strikes, faults in the building wiring, faulty installations, and improper use.
  • Failure to use the product in accordance with the operating instructions and or general misuse and or abuse.
  • Products used for a purpose other than the purpose for which they were manufactured 
  • If water or liquid caused the damage to the product.
  • If the product was not installed by a qualified electrician.

Manufacturer’s warranty

The manufacturer’s warranty is limited to 12 months and starts from the date your product was delivered to you. This warranty period includes any exchanges done within the 12 month period.

Steps to follow for returning faulty/defective items: 

  • Send an email query (with your order number) describing details the fault of the product. 
  • If necessary, record a video of the product while it is problematic. Ensure that the SKU/serial number is visible in the video and email the video to us. 
  • AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd will review the video and advise on next steps within 3-5 business days. 

Products that are found to be defective will be replaced at no cost to the Customer, on condition that it is within the manufacturer’s warranty period.

If necessary, products that need to be shipped back to AutomateIt – Home Automation (Pty) Ltd will be at the cost of the Customer.
